Frequently Asked Questions

What is direct primary care?

Direct primary care follows a membership-based healthcare model that allows for enhanced provider access and a more personalized appointment time and scheduling process. This type of healthcare experience is designed to improve care continuity and accessibility, leading to a stronger provider patient relationship that prioritizes long-term wellness and preventative care.

Who is Elevated Health designed for?

Our practice is designed for adults who value thoughtful care, clear communication, and a long-term relationship with their provider. Even healthy patients look to direct primary care to maintain their health, focus on preventative measures, and build a trusted provider relationship that allows for a health safety net if problems were to arise.

For what ages do you provide care, and what medical services do you offer?

Elevated Health is a primary care practice for adults. While we offer a suite of primary healthcare, we do not provide obstetric or gynecological care. We provide additional support to our adult patients through our Wellness Services, such as Cosmetic Medicine, Medical Weight Management, IV Therapy, Red Light Therapy, Peptide Therapy, and Hormonal Replacement Therapy, but Elevated Health does not provide gender affirming care.

Can Elevated Health replace my primary care provider?

Yes, Elevated Health’s membership-based model can replace your traditional primary care physician. For ongoing healthcare concerns, your Elevated Health provider is trained and equipped to complement other medical specialists and is an advocate for the entirety of your healthcare needs. While we aim to be your home for primary care, we can work with you to transition gradually to our services and will always put your needs and comfort first.

What if I need emergency care or in-patient treatment at a hospital?

Emergency medicine and hospital care are outside the scope of Elevated Health’s primary care model, but we are always prepared to respond to emergencies that occur in our facility by providing basic medical care until emergency medical services arrive. Our first priority is to keep you safe and partner with other providers to care for you.

Is investing in a membership-based primary care program worth it?

If you value easier access to your primary care provider, want to feel uncrushed in your appointments, and desire a personalized healthcare approach, becoming a member at Elevated Health is well-worth your monthly membership fee. We believe that the direct primary care program is beneficial for all patients because it allows for consistent, personalized support and partnership in developing and maintaining long-term health.

How many patients will your practice keep?

The goal of direct primary care is to maintain exclusive benefits such as provider accessibility, availability, and ease of appointment scheduling. With that in mind, we will limit our practice capacity and maintain a waitlist for new patients once our capacity is met.

Does Elevated Health accept insurance?

While we operate on a membership-based fee schedule rather than billing insurance, we do accept payments using Health Savings Accounts for up to $150 of the monthly membership fee. At Elevated Health, we value the monthly investment that you make into your health, and we love to help patients understand how that investment translates to real deliverables such as:

Is medical weight management safe?

Medical weight management, when guided by experienced medical providers like those at Elevated Health, is designed to support safe and structured weight improvement under professional supervision. We have partnered with select domestic pharmacies, with verified credentials and supply-chains, to assure that medications prescribed are of sound quality and regulated for patient safety.

How long does medical weight loss take?

Every patient experiences different results, and long-term success often depends on consistency and lifestyle habits. Our goal at Elevated Health is to partner with you to create healthy habits that, alongside medical weight loss treatments, facilitate weight loss and management while maintaining healthy muscle mass and overall health. The Elevated Health approach to medical weight loss prioritizes patient safety, digestive health, and a healthy lifestyle.

How soon can I begin a medical weight management program?

Your health is our top concern, so before beginning any medical weight loss program, we need to evaluate your baseline health, including vitals, labs, and lifestyle habits. If together we determine that a medically-assisted weight loss protocol is the right next step for you, we will determine which medication best suites your needs and prescribe via one of our trusted third-party pharmacies. Turnaround time for prescriptions is typically within one week, often faster, but can vary depending on supply-chain constraints.

Is red light therapy safe and does it hurt?

Red light therapy is considered safe under professional guidance. This type of non-invasive therapy is painless and does not require downtime or recovery following a treatment and our tranquil red light therapy rooms allow for a comfortable and relaxing experience during each session.

How long does a red light therapy session take and how often should I come in for sessions?

A red light therapy session generally lasts 10-15 minutes, but up to 20 minutes in the red light therapy bed may be suitable for supporting muscle recovery, pain elimination, or reduced inflammation. Depending on your goals, weekly sessions are beneficial, but more frequently (as often as once per day) may further improve your results. At Elevated Health, our experienced providers work with you to determine the best session length and frequency of treatment sessions to maximize the benefits of red light therapy based on your personal needs.

Who can benefit from red light therapy?

Patients seeking recovery, wellness, relaxation, or preventative health support can benefit from routine red light therapy sessions. This modality has been shown to improve muscle recovery and physical performance, as well as supporting healthy skin appearance and overall wellness.
